Colt McCoy went out and apparently gave a job-saving performance Sunday night, judging from his and coach Jim Harbaugh’s post-game analysis. “I feel real good right now that Colt’s the backup,†Harbaugh said after the 49ers’ 34-14 exhibition win over the Minnesota Vikings. McCoy sounded confident in his status despite a NFL.com report earlier in the day that he might get traded. McCoy confirmed that he restructured his contract on Saturday night, but he wouldn’t state if he indeed slashed his base salary from $1.5 million to the league minimum of $630,000. McCoy replaced Colin Kaepernick in the second quarter and played into the fourth, finishing out a 91-yard touchdown drive. He was 11-of-15 for 109 yards — with no touchdown passes and an interception for the third straight game. “He played very well, very encouraging,†Harbaugh said. “Tonight, down after down, he was consistently good and that’s what we were looking for.†Source: Mercury News
I wouldn't, lol. It's not sour grapes or anything, and I know he had terrible pieces around him, but I never saw much of anything from him. At least VY can make some plays and not get murdered.
