The ongoing struggle to persuade enough people to choose to attend NFL games in person currently is succeeding.

With the Chargers announcing that their Monday night season debut will be televised locally, all blackouts have been lifted for Week One.

Gee, how nice of Goodell to do this. Now only if this was for all 17 weeks.

It's why I have no feelings for the NFL when people "steal" their content via stream or whatever...it's a dumb, dumb, dumb "rule."

I have this feeling. If the league really wants to fill up the stadium then don't show it on tv at all. There is no way they can really compete with the joy of watching it at home. No lines for the crapter, no drunk( usually) visitor fans ragging on you. No fights. Reasonable prices on food and drink. The league is getting Billions from the networks to show it on tv. They can afford to lift all blackouts. And besides, it is the first freaking week. Not everyone's spirits have been crushed yet. Except for maybe a couple of teams. They are already mathematically eliminated.
