The NFL has reviewed whether New York Giants players Dan Connor and Cullen Jenkins deliberately impeded the Dallas Cowboys' no-huddle offense by faking injuries Sunday night and found no basis for punishment at this time, a league source told Ed Werder of ESPN. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and quarterback Tony Romo both suggested the Giants violated the league policy, but the team did not file an official complaint. Giants coach Tom Coughlin adamantly denied the accusation Monday, saying it was "absolutely not true." Connor did not return to the game. The team announced he had a "burner." Source: The Redzone
I read in today's DMN that the NFL offices have sent memos to all 32 NFL teams. The memos warn teams that teams or players faking injuries are subject to fines, suspensions, and the taking away of draft picks. And Sportsguy, faking injuries is FORBIDDEN.
Didn't the Giants have 2 guys go down last year at the same time during the same game because of "injuries"? I think so.
No, it absolutely is not. It's frowned upon, but that's about it, considering it's basically unprovable. Let me refer you to the NFL Rule book - Rule 4, Section 5, Article 4, supplementary notes. Deprecates. Not forbids. Doesn't even call it illegal (which they absolutely looooooove to throw around in any remotely relevant context everywhere else in that book). Thats basically saying "Ehhhh we'd really rather you wouldn't do this, so please don't...because if you do, there's really heck-all we can do about it."
Prince Amukamara actually got a concussion on that play. That was a brutal hit they both took. Yea they didnt look good at all. But I'm not complaining.:icon_cheesygrin:
