The Philadelphia Eagles' fast-breaking offense was the talk of the football world Monday night, but coach Chip Kelly wasn't pleased with the pace of his first NFL game. "I felt like it was slow to be honest with you," Kelly said, via NFL Media's Aditi Kinkhabwala. The Eagles' 53 plays through two quarters Monday night were the second most of any team since 1991. Kelly believes his team can not only sustain that pace but also do a better job of keeping its foot on the gas pedal while playing with a lead. The primary questions are whether that approach will work with the NFL's smaller rosters and longer season. "I've never been a part of anything like this," Michael Vick said, via TheMMQB.com. "When the first quarter was over, I thought we were about to go into halftime. Unreal. The only thing I could tell myself was, 'It's going to be a long season.'" Source: NFL.com
It's one thing to run this offense with players in their teens and 20s. It's another thing to run this offense with players in their 20s and 30s. That's why I'm going to name this offense Fast and Gassed.
sounds to me like he is being a bit arrogant about it.hell,he only used 60% of the playbook according to vick.it will be interesting to see how fast foles could run this if vick gets hurt. I'll give it to them, damn thing worked like a charm on the redskins defense Monday night.Deangelo Hall was chasing his butt all night long for sure
obnoxious comment....its all they could talk about, you got what you were trying for chip...lol I turned the sound off because i got sick of hearing them talk about the play clock. We get it, they play hurry up. Ive never heard Chip Kellys name spoken with including "Chip Kelly's Offense"...we get it. "I cant wait to see __________ in chip kellys offense"
He's right. It was too slow, clearly in the second half. If you can't handle it, the backups will steal some of your reps (see Bryce Brown). Some of the slow tempo in the second half was on the coaches trying to kill clock though. Vick played good, but like ALWAYS took unnecessary hits. Freaking idiot. I really think Foles would do better in this offense. We should get a chance to see it soon.
Wonder how he'll approach it. Work their asses more during the week to try and condition them better or let them rest more during the weeks so they have energy.
