As if Lavonte David hadn't already been punished enough for his shove of Geno Smith that cost the Tampa Bay Buccaneers the season opener against the New York Jets, the league has also fined the Bucs' linebacker.

David was fined $7,875 by the NFL according to NFL.com.

David's shove on Sunday resulted in a 15-yard penalty that allowed the Jets to kick a game-winning 48-yard field goal in the final seconds for an 18-17 victory.

I've got to admit even I, as a Jets fan (long suffering!), thought that was a pansy call to begin with.

A fine? I swear there will soon be fines for tackling someone.
