The NFL is reviewing Redskins strong safety Brandon Meriweather’s helmet-to-helmet hit that knocked Green Bay Packers running back Eddy Lacy out of Sunday’s game with a concussion, Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports. This according to a person with knowledge of the situation said. It’s not yet clear if a suspension is under consideration or if Meriweather could just draw a fine, said the person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. Meriweather in 2010 was fined $50,000 for a helmet-to-helmet hit, and in 2011 received fines of $20,000 for a helmet-to-helmet hit and $25,000 for unnecessary roughness. Meanwhile, Meriweather on Monday underwent additional testing for the concussion of his own that he suffered in the second quarter of Sunday’s game. Source: The Redzone
Hope he gets a huge fine. The dude has a history of targeting the head and targeted the heads of 2 Packers on Sunday.
what is there to look at? It is clear as the bell he rung. If the commish is serious about players safety, besides the extra games, then he should suspend him like Goldson.
No, maybe for Lacy, but in no way was he targeting Starks' head. If anything Starks could be fined for lowering his head into Meriweathers (which I thought was against the rules now, no?)
