Washington safety Brandon Meriweather is the latest NFL player who will mail a check to the league office because of an illegal hit. Meriweather was fined $42,000 by the NFL on Wednesday for his helmet-to-helmet hit to Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy, according to CBSSports.com reporter Jason La Canfora. Lacy sustained a concussion because of that hit and did not return. Ironically, Meriweather delivered another significant hit during that game – James Starks was the recipient – and sustained his own concussion. He missed the rest of Washington’s 38-20 road loss.
