Aldon Smith stretched with teammates and remained at the front of the line with the 49ers’ starters as practice began Friday and media access was closed after less than 10 minutes as team drills began. Smith was arrested some 3 1/2 hours earlier, at 7 a.m., by San Jose police for suspicion of DUI and marijuana possession after a single-car accident just blocks from schools. Coach Jim Harbaugh is scheduled to address the media at 2:15 p.m., after which the media will have an hour access to players inside the locker room. The 49ers earlier issued a statement acknowledging Smith’s arrest but declined further comment, Smith was released from jail after posting $5,250 bail. His status for Sunday’s game against the Colts is unknown, although his presence at practice Friday could suggest the team may play him if the NFL doesn’t first impose a suspension.
