Packers running back James Starks, who left early Week 3 at Cincinnati because of a knee injury, ended up missing the entire second half, finishing the game with 14 rushes for 55 yards. His replacement, rookie Johnathan Franklin, made quite the impression in his two quarters of play, rushing 13 times for 103 yards and a touchdown. He showed off his big-play ability by picking up 51 yards on a single run midway through the third quarter. He did commit a huge blunder, though, coughing up the ball on a fourth-and-1 run late in the fourth quarter that the Bengals returned for the game-deciding touchdown. Starks was an injury replacement himself, filling in for the concussed Eddie Lacy, so even if he's able to shake off this injury during the Week 4 bye and return for Week 5 against the Lions, he's no guarantee for a hefty workload, especially now that Franklin has entered the mix. Franklin looked good on Sunday, other than when he put the ball on the ground on that 4th and 1 play. Im perfectly OK with going whoever is the hot hand. Starks has been good so far this season but if theres someone better, even if that person is a rookie, you have to go with whomever is getting it done.
