Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo boasts the NFL's third-highest completion rate (72.4 percent) and fourth-highest passer rating (105.0) at the quarter-season mark. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones suggested Tuesday morning, however, that Romo is playing too safely when he could be allowing a double-covered Dez Bryant the opportunity to make more plays. "The same kind of throw you throw to him in the end zone the other day that he made that catch," Jones said on KRLD-FM, via The Dallas Morning News. "He can make that catch with two people on him. You throw him the ball when he's double-covered. He's been thrown to when he's double-covered. You can do that. "Dez is going. He's blowing and going. He's doing a great job. He's a far better player than he was at this time last year. He's going to get better." Source: NFL.com DaBears22's Take: He's really stepped up his game this year for sure. So Romo has to be happy due to his stats so far.
For real. He is our best weapon. At least throw it up and give him a chance to compete for the ball. This dink and dunk crap we're doing has got to stop. As it sits now we are a .500 club unless we start feeding the ball to #88.
i just think it's funny that if romo DOES start playing aggressive again and he ends up throwing picks in the process, people are going to start snitching and blaming romo again. i just love how it's such a can't win situation. lol
Yes sir. I bet even if he wins a SB people will say ignorance like "Trent Dilfer" syndrome. It is an absolute no win situation.
A great qb knows how to tread somewheres between aggressive and safe. Knows when to dink and dunk and when to drop a bomb. I think Romo is playing to robotic and not just flowing
romo has had seasons where he has had that balance. part of me wonders if romo isn't to an extent trying to prove a point, but that's highly unlikely. i wouldn't be mad at him if he were though.
Romo actually played worse at the beginning of the year last year then he has the this. I wonder if maybe he is just turning into a slow starter Sent from my HTC Vivid
between the play calling and romo's reads, bryant is not being thrown to enough. yes, he gets extra attention sometimes, but not all of the time and the coaches and romo need to figure out how to get the ball in this guy's hands more often.
