    San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers, Tennessee Titans cornerback Alterraun Verner and Kansas City Chiefs return specialist Dexter McCluster have been named the AFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams players of the week for Week 4.

    Sweets's Take: I was totally shocked that Peyton Manning didn't win and totally surprised that Rivers took the honors.

    Me too. The amount of hype that Rivers got on the Monday morning talk shows was incredible. Absolutely he played well, but Manning's performance was almost dismissed because it's what we should expect from watching his greatness in action. Almost like "Ho-hum, Manning's at it again". His performance blew Rivers' away, IMO.
