Afer the changes that were made in the offseason, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is disappointed the team is still stuck at .500 Rainer Sabin of the Dallas Morning News reports.

“Now, I said when I made all the changes this year – and we made a ton of them – when we made those changes, we’re trying to break out of this rut, if you will, of .500,†Jones said on KRLD-FM (105.3) Tuesday. “Now, nobody guarantees you .500. In this league, you’ve got to really get in here and you got to have games like we had the other day or the one against Kansas City. You need to figure out how to win at least half of those games on the road. Bottom line is, we’ve got to play to the occasions. We didn’t play well.

“We hit a team that if you look on paper, you look at the shape they were in on paper, we had a good chance to win that game even though it was on the road. When you don’t do that it’s going to create a lot of discontent.â€

Yet Jones doesn’t think the Cowboys need to alter the approach as they look to achieve better results more consistently.

“I think there’s as much passion, there’s as much pressure to win ballgames as there’s ever been,†he said. “I know this: We’re certainly doing the kinds of things that we think are the right things to do to try to win the ballgames.â€

Sweets's Take: WHAT!!!! No mention of Dez Bryant anywhere in this article..blasphemy!! I expected Jones to spout off again about his love affair with Dez.

Doing the right thing by hiring a real GM Jerry? Yea didn't think so. We will never be better than a .500 team at this rate.

I've said countless times that Jerry will NEVER give up his GM position.

The leaning Tower of Pisa looked good on paper too. Till they found out the subsoil was crap.

i dont feel this way I do think JJ needs to STFU but really as a GM he has gotten the team some good picks in the draft.

I have to disagree Omen I'm not sold on his drafting expertise. Jerry strikes out with more of his questionable decisions then he hits on. He tries so damn hard to prove he knows what hes doing he fails. Over 3/4 of his draft picks are either Glass Joes or end up flops for us. This team is mediocre at best and will stay that way till Jerry's ego passes away.

i dont agree with the 3/4, but you cant expect for all draft pics to pann out, most teamsd GMs drafts duds on a yearly basis . The draft is acrap shoot you hit and miss.

if you think our drafting is poor, think of the teams who annually have a top 12-15 pick.

"Huh?" is generally used to signify confusion or a need for clarification when someone has said something that makes no sense.

Walnuts I believe he means teams that always seem to be in those top 15 spots. If you look you will see we come damn close to being one of those teams. We seem to love the area around that 18th spot. Which makes me say we are mediocre at best.

We are quickly becoming the Raiders of the NFC

He means teams like the lions who were top 5 picks for like 6 yrs in a row. Same as the browns for awhile. Teams that year after year are drafting top 10

JJ is also the person responsible for drafting such people as Shante Carver, Ebenezer Ekuban, David LaFleur, Bobby Carpenter, and trading draft picks away that brought in such players as WR Roy Williams.

you're right, every pick should be a pro bowl player and he should take no risks ever. no gm in the nfl is allowed to be wrong ever.
