One of the hopes for the Eagles to secure a much-needed victory, and snap a three-game losing streak, is for their defense to get their hands on the ball. They are minus-nine in the take-away/give-away department, which ranks them 30th, just ahead of the New York Jets (-10) and the Pittsburgh Steelers (-11). The problem is, the Eagles aren’t very good at taking away the ball. “We have to be a turnover team,†said defensive coordinator Billy Davis, whose defense has slipped to dead last in the NFL. “Our turnovers are not high enough right now. We’ve got to work on that. We talk about it a lot. We try to get our hands on as many balls in practice as we can. But it’s not — we’ve got to increase our turnovers and give our offense more possessions, just like the three‑and‑outs and getting off the field. “The defense has to increase its production for the team to succeed. I really believe that, because we’ve got to get the ball in our offense’s hands more often than we are doing right now.†Source: Phillyburbs.com 86WARD's Take: Ladies and Gentleman...Billy Davis.
