Amid mounting controversy, is Daniel Snyder ready to change the nickname of the Washington Redskins? Don't count on it. Snyder continues to stand by the nickname, but the owner took a new, softer approach to the hot-button topic in a letter sent this week to Redskins season-ticket holders. Source: NFL.com Sportsguy's Take: I think this is a great PR move by Snyder right there
Re: Dan Snyder defends Redskins name in letter to fans Ok, this topic now joins concussions, Brett favre, and Tim tebow. I've had enough.
Re: Dan Snyder defends Redskins name in letter to fans Also tired of talking about it, but Snyder is still a douche of epic proportion
In related news: Snyder's of Hanover, founded in 1909, the #1 pretzel company in the US, & also the global leader in pretzel sales, has issued a press statement that the Redskins Dan Snyder's use of the name Snyder offends them & harms their rich history of pretzel making. It cites the legion of fans who have loved their pretzels so much that they'll even buy broken pretzels marketed as 'bits & pieces'. Their contention is their fans have suffered indigestion thru the years at Snyder's antics as Redskins owner. They insist Snyder drop the name & go just by 'Dan' including changing the team name of 'Redskins' which fans closely identify with 'Snyder's', to something else like 'Potatoskins'. No word yet if they will make a formal complaint in the courts...
