Arizona Cardinals defensive end Calais Campbell was carted off the field late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Campbell went head-first into a pile at the end of a run by the 49ers' Frank Gore and was on the ground for several minutes before being taken off on a stretcher.

SteveRobWhatever's Take: Campbell was taken to the hospital for further testing but word is he was getting feeling back in his hands and legs on the field. You hope nothing but the best for him. He's an impressive defender who finds a way to impose his will on the offense. I love the combination packages they were using with him and Washington today.

Sounds like it was a hard-hitting game

i didn't watch this game but apparently some of the crowd was doing the wave while campbell was down. York expressed his disappointment at them doing it.

i'm not sure if i am that upset about fans not sitting silently after every injury. personally, when i have attended games, i sit silently when it looks like it could possibly be a neck/spinal cord injury because we've literally seen guys become parapalegics in an instant with this game, but if others do not feel the need to do it, that's their right as a ticket-paying customer.

Well, there's no love lost between the 49ers and Campbell.

Not saying that excuses the wave, I find that pretty disheartening actually, but there's history there. Between him and Dockett alone there's a lot of bad blood taking the field every time we play them.
