The NFL's officiating office planned to review Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh's post-throw hit on Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden this past Sunday, Josh Katzenstein of the Detroit News reports.

In an NFL Media video from the series, "Behind Closed Doors: How a Hit Becomes a Fine," vice president of officiating Dean Blandino made note of the play because Suh lowered his head to hit the quarterback.

markaz's Take: Sounds like they'll fine him again with the VP of officiating making the comment about Suh lowering his head. Suh deserves the scrutiny, but I hope others aren't getting away with the same post-game "violations" that Suh will get nailed with.

Another Suh hit getting looked at by the NFL? I'm shocked!

I believe this fine would be in the $250,000 range with the scale they have in place

Is there a video of the hit the NFL is looking at?

That hit looked OK to me. His head was down but he led with his hands.

that's a close one. it almost looks like suh stayed more upright because he thought he may have had a chance to bat the pass and then he made contact. i'm not sure i would fine that one.

If they levy a fine for that one, it's an official witch hunt.

This is more about the 'unofficial' NFL response to players who vocalize their defiance against the NFL's players safety drive. Suh's on their radar & the Lions/Suh aren't smart enough to get off it.
