Jones said Thursday that he isn't at liberty to comment on Ratliff's release because of "differences of opinion" about the player's injury situation. "This has now become a legal" matter, Jones said, according to The Dallas Morning News.

DaBears22's Take: I take this to mean that Ratliff is going to fight to keep any money he can from that contract he signed. Does this have merit? No team will sign him til he can prove he's healthy and if Jones though he could play this year wouldn't he have kept him on the roster?

he's getting the money he's contractually entitled to regardless. they just mean it's a legal issue in the sense that speaking of it could create a legal issue. and really, they're taking the morale high road anyway, which i'm cool with.

I've always thought there was something fishy about him and his refusal to do his rehab work at Valley Ranch.

Nah man Dallas paid him xx mil. To show up to camp and to nothing. If hadn't shown up and said I can't play the cowboys don't have to pay the roster bonus.

He basically bent the cowboys over.
