Stop listening to Jason Garrett's words and instead, pay attention to what he does. Since Garrett took the job, the Cowboys have either released or chosen not to re-sign veterans Andre Gurode, Leonard Davis, Kyle Kosier, Marion Barber, Terence Newman, Marc Colombo, Bradie James, Mike Jenkins, Felix Jones, Marcus Spears, Nate Livings ,Gerald Sensabaugh and now we can add defensive tackle Jay Ratliff to the list. Source: SB Nation markaz's Take: Yes, the Ratliff story is a few days old, but the more I see of the Cowboys and mediocrity as the new norm and what I read about Jason Garrett, the more I'm wondering what I'm missing. Somebody please enlighten me as to whether Garrett is worth a damn or merely a puppet at the end of Jerry's strings.
i think most cowboys fans will tell you it depends on the day. i don't think he's a jerry puppet entirely, but most of the time, i don't think he's worth a damn. there are many moments where i want to like him as a head coach, but then my logic returns and i remember i hate him. ultimately, to be entirely honest, i think the jury is still out on him. i do like his efforts in how he's approached building the team though, i will say that.
