Rodney Harrison will be part of the crew that will be working this Sunday's game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers from the NBC studios. While it was expected that the Vikings were going to give Josh Freeman a chance to make amends for the disaster we saw on Monday night at MetLife Stadium, it was revealed a couple of days later that he had a concussion, and the Vikings said they would, instead, start Christian Ponder at quarterback for the "Border Battle." Harrison questioned Freeman's concussion: "I can't say that I believe he has a concussion. I can't say I'm 100% sold out. I'm not trying to doubt the seriousness of his injury if he has one, but it just seems like a convenient excuse to get out of a situation." "I played safety at a high level for a long time and I was bangin' and I never missed a game because of a concussion so it just seems like an excuse to me."

86WARD's Take: The way Freeman's career has spiraled downward here in recent weeks/months, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a ploy by the Vikings to get him off the field and save face or a ploy by Freeman to get out of another bad situation.

Yeah, I found it weird that 2 or 3 days AFTER a game, Freeman is reported with concussion like symptoms. We usually know no more than the day after the game. C'MON MAN!

the whole situation with freeman this year has been dysfunctional and the vikings have been dysfunctional so they were a perfect marriage for more dysfunction.

I was thinking that it was a ploy as well. But to Harrison's point about not missing a game due to a concussion.. the game has changed quite a bit now, and if he visibly had one now he'd miss a game.

I don't think it was smart on the Vikings part to start Freeman against the Giants anyway. He's just as bad as Ponder, maybe worse.

I Think that the vikes are stretching the truth, but i question anything harrisson says cause he was dirty as hell as a player and i can't see him changing his tactics much for tv. he pats himself on the back so much i can't see how he does not have two broken arms.
