Entire Article at NOLA.com......... New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton has often said things never seem as good or bad on film as they do immediately during postgame......... (Rest of article......) Good article on the Saints Attitude for the rest of the season. I don't know how many "Old School" Saints fans we have here, but let me tell you the Good Ol'Days weren't so good in New Orleans. The team we have now under Sean Payton has shown they are not afraid of making changes. In my opinion, that was always one of the marks of the really bad Saint teams of the past. Problems were never addressed. Anyway, it's a good read.
Old school Saints fan here. From '72 on to present. While I love this defense, they show tremendous upside, I would love to see this offense with the Dome Patrol. Never will happen but I would love to see it.
I don't think we need a Dome Patrol-like defense (would be nice, but that's just fantasy) to win. We seem to be doing OK with what we have and I just think in the next few seasons we'll get better. One thing that I always remember about that defense was their fire and emotion. I have a little article and video I found on my website that describes the Dome Patrol on my website: The Dome Patrol: Sam Mills, Rickey Jackson, Vaughn Johnson, Pat Swilling | www.NOSaintsHistory.com But the point I want to make is what I like about our defense is they seem to have a little aggression about them. I just don't recall the present level of play present in our recent defenses.

I agree we don't need a Dome Patrol type but it would be nice. anyway, the rules are different now so their style of play wouldn't be allowed in today's game. I agree that this defense shows aggression. I hope they keep it up. We are going to need it against the 49ers and the Seahawks.
Those are the 2 teams that worry me the most but maybe I'm still just emotional scarred from our last 2 playoff games. I think anyway you look at it we have to beat at least 1 if not both of those teams. But still, I feel like we can give both of those teams a good game at least and come away with a win.
Personally, and I am not high, I think we can beat Seattle at Seattle. Even if Percy Harvin comes back. And I think we can also beat San Fran. We can outscore anyone, and I mean anyone. Our defense is playing well enough to stop the 49ers and Seattle. This year is a breath of fresh air after last year and Coach has this team playing well. Rob Ryan has a lot to prove to the league and FINALLY he has a good offense to play with. I see home field throughout and no one can beat us there with the fans rocking and Payton on a mission. Can't freaking wait.
If we play, like we are capable of, I think we can win both those games too. I think Payton and Ryan will have the guys ready.
that is it, if we play like we are capable of playing. We need to get the running game started early and stick with it. Robinson is averaging a good clip when he runs but they go away from it. maybe they are just hiding the awesome running plays until we play those two teams.
