Props to the Jets yesterday. They played tough and Ivory was a beast, but the Saints just got sloppy (burning all 3 timeouts in the first quarter? 2 delay of game calls? What's up with that?) And that reverse call on fourth? With a tight end? Really? And for crying out loud! WE NEED AN OFFENSIVE LINE! No running game and Drew is going to get killed. If we make the playoffs, I just don't see us going far. We are not going to have a Championship on the passing game alone. And seriously, as great as the offense can be, I think it's going to be our defense that gets us anywhere.
Re: So What Do You Guys Think? i didn't watch this particular game but i've seen the saints a few times this year. yes, their 0-line needs to improve or it could be their undoing in january. overall, their defense is 'average', with its' strength being in pass defense. they have some talented pass rushers and talent in their secondary so they are pretty solid against the pbutt. their weakness seems to be in stopping the run. they need to shore that up before january where they can run into guys like marshawn lynch and frank gore.

The reverse was bad. realllllyyy bad I was listening to the game on the way to work, and thought it was weird that they used all their first half timeouts in the first quarter. Not sure what the Jets were showing them, but I can't recall ever seeing or hearing about a team doing that. Also, haven't followed the Saints very closely this year, so just assumed they were a much improved version from last year. Based on what you're saying about run defense and poor offensive line play, they could be in for a long rest of the season and post season. Carolina is playing really well right now, and their defense top-notch.
Yeah, we need to tighten up. If we don't get some "little" things fixed I can see Carolina sneaking up on us, us only getting a wild card spot and losing any homefield advantage. We won't last long I'm afraid.
I think they are a victim of their own arrogance. They got lucky a couple of time with finding small school players in the draft and they decided that they can find one anywhere. The Oline is horrible on the edge. I doubt our tackles could be backups anywhere else. The center is young I know but he has two really good if not great guards on either side and he is not holding his own. We need to run the ball a lot more. We are averaging good YPC but they are not sticking with it and I put that on Coach. As far as the Jets game, I think that Rex knows how to attack Rob's defense. Hell, it is the same one he runs more or less. I hope Coach got all the hecked up playcalling out of his system because the next few games will tell the story. We have the other top teams in our way to home field throughout coming up and we need to be on top of our game hitting on all cylinders and any other rhetoric you want to include.
