When asked who the leader of the team was, Green said Washington didn't really have one. "I think that's the problem," he said. "I think it's super important to have leadership, and I don't think [Griffin] really is the leader." "But I just feel so bad that you would have a system where it's all predicated on this guy running. He's the second rusher on the team. It doesn't work, in my opinion." Source: The Redzone markaz's Take: Initially seeing the headline my reaction was STFU. I just don't like former players firing off opinions when they're out of the loop. Here the headline is misleading and I would agree with what Green says. Griffin probably isn't the team leader right now with what he's had to deal with physically, but he eventually will put the team on his shoulders.
Re: Former 'Skins CB Darrell Green Questions Redskins QB RG III Leadership Rg3 strikes me as more of a cerebral guy and not an aggressive, in your face character. Some view that as not being a leader
Re: Former 'Skins CB Darrell Green Questions Redskins QB RG III Leadership with respect for darrell green,he should shut the hell up cause when he played,he was not much of a leader. and after the game,if you asked him for an autograph,he was the world's fastest man cause he would haul butt in the opposite direction to not give you one,and this includes little kids. He could take a lesson or two from rg3 and london fletcher about signing autographs and being team leaders.
Re: Former 'Skins CB Darrell Green Questions Redskins QB RG III Leadership If i were london fletcher,i'd be pissed cause green said he was not a leader and was"just the oldest dude in the lockeroom."
Re: Former 'Skins CB Darrell Green Questions Redskins QB RG III Leadership Agreed. He's also a crybaby and an attention tramp (see this past offseason), and yet not vocal at all when he's on the sideline. He's almost completely passive.
Apparently rg3 made some comments about the last play of the eagles game not being his fault. Santana moss has come out and taken exception to rg3 not taking responsibility as a supposed leader. There may be something to this.
They are talking about it on Mike and Mike this morning. They are discussing how he threw the receivers and offense line under the bus in that comment instead of just putting it all on himself. Probably the most talented quarterback in the entire league, but so far he does not seem like the type of player I would want to be my franchise quarterback.
should have taken responsibility, but did'nt! moss needs to keep this crap in the locker room,as does rg3. shanny, haslett, shanny jr need to go after this season,as do a few redskins veterans who's age has become obvious this year.and if you give rg3 a decent line,he will shine, but if you put him behind a 10cent line he will never develop.
Re: Former 'Skins CB Darrell Green Questions Redskins QB RG III Leadership Peyton Mannjng really wasn't an "in your face guy" at the beginning of his career. He still isn't really a "screamer." Lol. I took Green's comment more as an experience comment in that Griffin doesn't have the experience to be an NFL leader...yet...
