Legendary quarterback and future Hall of Famer Brett Favre spoke to Matt Lauer about football, concussions and his future in a piece set to air Monday. In a snippet of the candid interview, Favre said he doesn't have a son, but if he did, he told Lauer, "I would be real leery of him playing" football. "In some respects, I'm almost glad I don't have a son because of the pressures he would face." Source: Today
Re: Brett Favre Says He Would Not Want His Children Play Football He knows the risks. His boys would be most likely set for life...no need to risk future injury to follow in Pops footsteps. It's refreshing to see that he's not like Archie Manning pimping out his boys every chance he gets...
Re: Brett Favre Says He Would Not Want His Children Play Football my son did not play football, but i never pushed him to play or not cause my daddy never pushed me to play sports or do anything i did not want to except rake the leaves or shovel snow! I have not dount my grandson will want to play though, and i am fine with it.
Re: Brett Favre Says He Would Not Want His Children Play Football I think there is a good chunk of parents who feel this way with not wanting their kids playing football and the dangers in the game. This is actually the first thing that has come out of Brett Favre's mouth in a long time that I can actually respect.
Re: Brett Favre Says He Would Not Want His Children Play Football we don't want his children playing football either. we've all had more than enough 'Favre' for one lifetime.
Re: Brett Favre Says He Would Not Want His Children Play Football I get the trepidation, but if my kid wants to play i'm going to let him play. The odds of him playing after high school are so low it's laughable, so it's not like Favre where he spent half a lifetime getting blasted in the head. I'm not going to push my son to play or not play. He'll decide what he wants to do.
