Redskins tackle Trent Williams has accused NFL umpire Roy Ellison for swearing at him during Sunday's disappointing loss in Philadelphia. Williams said that Ellison called him a "a garbage butt disrespectful mother(expletive)," according to 106.7 in Washington. "I just don't think there's no room for you to have to take that from the team and the refs," Williams said. "I think it's very unprofessional and it sucks. I'm at a loss for words. You never expect that as a player going into a game to have to beef with the refs also." Source: NFL.com SteveRobWhatever's Take: Bad day all around for the Redskins. They got beat almost all day, rallied back only to have RG3 throw the comeback away with a mind-numbingly dumb throw late in the game. The league is looking into the matter but there are no comments from any of the officials or the NFL about the incident.
Well if he was being disrespectful to the officials then he deserved it...and if he wasn't, he probably did something else in the past that he deserved it for.
The players should respect the officials, the officials should show respect towards the players. Respect is a two way street. No doubt the referee should be disciplined if this is true.
