Hello fellow GIFers. After much deliberation I have decided to have a crack at my first ever Mock Draft. It's only 1 round because with some teams coaching staffs still to be finalised, there exists a chance that schemes may change, and this of course will alter draft strategy. Also you guys might tell me that i am a crap drafter,so why make you suffer 7 rounds 1 Houston: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M 2 St.Louis: Greg Robinson,OT, Auburn 3 Jacksonville: Teddy Bridgewater,QB,Louisville 4 Cleveland: Johnny Manziel,QB,Texas A&M 5 Oakland: Jadeveon Clowney,DE,South Carolina 6 Atlanta: Stephon Tuitt,DE,Notre Dame 7 Tampa Bay: Taylor Lewan,OT,Michigan 8 Minnesota: Derek Carr,QB,Fresno State 9 Buffalo: Khalil Mack,OLB,Buffalo 10 Detroit: Darqueze Dennard,CB,Michigan State 11 Tennessee: Blake Bortles,QB,UCF 12 NY Giants: Anthony Barr,OLB,UCLA 13 St.Louis: Sammy Watkins,WR,Clemson 14 Chicago: Louis Nix,DT,Notre Dame 15 Pittsburgh: Cyrus Kouandjio,OT,Alabama 16 Dallas: HaHa Clinton-Dix,FS,Alabama 17 Baltimore: Mike Evans,WR,Texas A&M 18 NY Jets: Cyril Richardson,OG,Baylor 19 Miami: David Yankey,OG,Stanford 20 Arizona: Trent Murphy,OLB,Stanford 21 Green Bay: Jace Amaro,TE,Texas Tech 22 Philadelphia: CJ Mosley,ILB,Alabama 23 Kansas City: Marqise Lee,WR,Southern Cal 24 Cincinnati: Justin Gilbert,CB,Oklahoma State 25 San Diego: Jason Verrett,CB,TCU 26 Cleveland: Zack Martin,OG,Notre Dame 27 New Orleans: Ryan Shazier,OLB,Ohio State 28 San Francisco: Vic Beasley,OLB,Clemson 29 New England: Eric Ebron,TE,North Carolina 30 Carolina:Allen Robinson,WR,Penn State 31 Denver: Antonio Richardson,OT,Tennessee 32 Seattle: Kelvin Benjamin,WR,Florida State
That pick is a pretty big stretch IMO. IF Houston doesn't want a QB, they almost certainly go Clowney. Right? Why wouldn't they?
No way Niners go OLB. It's one of the more stacked positions on the team, with little room for improvement from the starters.
So I will let you know my opinion on what you have. 1 Houston: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M- I cant see this happening unless they trade down. This will either be their QB of the future or Clowney to pair with Watt 2 St.Louis: Greg Robinson,OT, Auburn- If Matthews is gone, then great pick. 3 Jacksonville: Teddy Bridgewater,QB,Louisville 4 Cleveland: Johnny Manziel,QB,Texas A&M 5 Oakland: Jadeveon Clowney,DE,South Carolina 6 Atlanta: Stephon Tuitt,DE,Notre Dame- I dont see Tuitt going this high. He is a great player, just not sure top 10. I see them going Mack or Barr 7 Tampa Bay: Taylor Lewan,OT,Michigan 8 Minnesota: Derek Carr,QB,Fresno State- Many people(as in most) have Bortles over Carr 9 Buffalo: Khalil Mack,OLB,Buffalo 10 Detroit: Darqueze Dennard,CB,Michigan State- As much as they need a CB, I cant see them passing on Watkins. Watkins+Calvin would be deadly 11 Tennessee: Blake Bortles,QB,UCF- Im pretty sure they picked up the option for Locker for another year. If that is true, they wont go QB this high. They will look for McCarron or Fales later 12 NY Giants: Anthony Barr,OLB,UCLA 13 St.Louis: Sammy Watkins,WR,Clemson 14 Chicago: Louis Nix,DT,Notre Dame 15 Pittsburgh: Cyrus Kouandjio,OT,Alabama 16 Dallas: HaHa Clinton-Dix,FS,Alabama 17 Baltimore: Mike Evans,WR,Texas A&M 18 NY Jets: Cyril Richardson,OG,Baylor 19 Miami: David Yankey,OG,Stanford 20 Arizona: Trent Murphy,OLB,Stanford- They need OT much much more than OLB. If Antonio Richardson is there, that will be the pick. 21 Green Bay: Jace Amaro,TE,Texas Tech 22 Philadelphia: CJ Mosley,ILB,Alabama 23 Kansas City: Marqise Lee,WR,Southern Cal 24 Cincinnati: Justin Gilbert,CB,Oklahoma State 25 San Diego: Jason Verrett,CB,TCU 26 Cleveland: Zack Martin,OG,Notre Dame 27 New Orleans: Ryan Shazier,OLB,Ohio State 28 San Francisco: Vic Beasley,OLB,Clemson- They have the best LB core in the NFL. I think this pick will be either CB or WR 29 New England: Eric Ebron,TE,North Carolina- Many would agree with you here though I think it wouldnt fit the Pats style. 30 Carolina:Allen Robinson,WR,Penn State 31 Denver: Antonio Richardson,OT,Tennessee 32 Seattle: Kelvin Benjamin,WR,Florida State[/quote]
I see Houston going with a QB at #1 overall. I'm guessing Bill O'Brien wants his own guy at QB and Schaub's time in Houston is up if you ask me.
One of the Eagles strengths last year was ILB. Ryans was the best player on defense and Kendricks was solid most weeks. If they go linebacker, it'll be a pass rusher but likely will address big holes in the secondary or at NT.
