I don't know which link to provide you guys. So I will presume most of you have heard the story. The Nets signed Jason Collins to a 10 day contract and he played last night making history. For me this was a historic moment for my Brooklyn Nets. The Brooklyn Dodgers signed Jackie Robinson on April 15th 1947 The Brooklyn Nets Signed Jason Collins on February 23rd 2014 Very proud
nah mike it's not . I follow the Nets way too closely and I am almost certain this is a basketball move. What he brings to the team is what was missing
He has never brought stats I give you that. Yet he played 12 years in the League without the stats with multiple teams. His Basketball IQ is through the roof. He sets screens like no other big man, and is a great a positioning himself without the ball. He will not play more than 10 minutes a game, and that is exactly what the Nets needed with Blatche taking the floor when KG sits. Plumee is too inexperienced. I also think Jason Collins is way too smart too sign this contract if it was a publicity stunt.
I'll take your word for what he brings to the Nets but I wouldn't downplay the possibility that this move is choreographed behind the scenes by the Nets & Collins tho for different reasons.
the nets were in desperate need for a guy like collins. if its just a PR move show me a list of unsigned players that wouldve been a better fit.
he would have to actually provide something besides height to be a better fit. lets be honest here, its strictly a pr move
Screens has been his new nickname. The problem is we lost by over 40 Points last night thanks to our starters. WAS a terrible game
like i said, show me a list of unsigned free agents that the nets could've brought in who are better.
There was Bynum, but we didn't want the headache. Other then that there are no true C, in the FA pool
true but billy king for once was smart and didn't trade for bynum who hasnt played yet (surprise surprise) for the pacers since being dealt there. botton line is when brooke lopez went down they needed somebody. now to mike's point i am sure the "good" PR that was going to come as a result of signing collins certainly helped.
