I definitely don't think you'll end up that way, dawk. I can tell just from our interactions here that you're a better man than him. You understand it's on you to make the effort.

 

I totally do. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I let my relationship with them die.

 

I'm sorry to hear this Dawk. Hopefully you can work it out. But if not, you better make sure you get a good lawyer because if she spends like you say, she'll be looking for A LOT.

Dawk.I feel your pain as I have been through a divorce I didn't see coming.I knew there were problems but thought they could be fixed,then she said the fateful words,"I want a divorce". My suggestions of counselling and seeking some help to try and reconcile were all met with a negative response.In my case there were no kids involved.
I'm going to offer one piece of advice.If ever you feel like things are getting you down,please don't let male pride get in the way,go and see a counsellor or support group.I didn't do that and paid a price for years,my mind took me to some dark places before I got help.Working with a psychologist was the best 3 months of my life and changed my whole attitude.
As all the guys have said,we are here to listen and will support you as best we can.

She definitely talked crap, but she's not directly a reason for our divorce. She is indirectly though in the sense that she was a horrible and abusive mother when my wife and her siblings were growing up. My wife is on like 3 million different types of medication like Zoloft, Xanax, etc... It all goes back to how she was raised.

Thanks for the kind words and advice. If I feel I need to see a psychologist, I am not afraid to try something like that.

So last night I started hearing weird whistling like noises in our backyard. We have a small pond. I saw two frogs having s*x. Same noise tonight, but now they have eggs laid.

This is embarrassing to admit, but true....I'm actually jealous of these frogs. How the duck did my self-esteem sink so low so quickly??

 

Please tell me you aren't beating off to frog porn, man.

 

Because let me tell you that is probably not a road you want to go down...walking around trying to hide an erection whenever the frogs are croaking on warm summer evenings is generally not really encouraged by polite society in my experience.

Here is the important question Dawk, well important in my mind at least. Who gets the house, you haven't even been there long enough for the new house smell to fade away?

Yesterday my brother, a lifelong friend, and one of my brothers-in-law came over. My wife took the kids to her mother's house so we could just let it rip. It was a solid 12 hours of drinking, laughing, serious discussions, and just overall a great time. At least on two occasions we laughed so hard that I cried and my ribs hurt. There was literal on the floor laughing. I needed that so bad. I have some great people in my life. Not that I didn't totally appreciate them before, but last night was next level crap of honesty and bonding.
