OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- The Golden State Warriors are taking another chance on a television analyst and former NBA guard who has never been a head coach at any level. The Warriors won the bidding war with the New York Knicks for Steve Kerr on Wednesday, hiring him away from the TNT broadcast table to be their coach. Fond memories of Kerr's first big gig was becoming the GM of the Suns and his first order of business was to hire Terry Porter as his head coach. Porter didn't even make it to the All-Star break and was sacked. Just what makes Kerr head coaching material?
I kinda saw this coming when he didn't sign with new York right away. Phil is not having a good start to his run.
