The New Orleans Saints have become no stranger to taking part in meaningful Football games in January. For years upon years, a franchise that had become synonymous with the cellar and subsequent top-ten draft picks now finds itself in the form of a perennial contender. This paradigm shift actually did, to an extent, occur overnight, kicking on in earnest when Sean Payton arrived in New Orleans early in 2006. The Saints went from a 3-win team without a home, literally, to the NFC Championship game in the span of one season. Thanks in large part to Payton’s brainchild, a potent offense operated to near perfection […]

Nice read. You have more faith in the secondary than I do. Patrick Robinson should be in a Burn Ward for as many times as he was toasted. While I like our top five defensive backs, the back ups are either shaky or not experienced, which can come to hurt us if we have any serious injuries. I think Gregg played the perfect defense for this offense. Rob is sorta like him but Rob doesn't blitz as much. The attacking style of defense blends well with the offense. Better than the read and react, or what the hell Spags tried to implement (is he still coaching?) and failed miserably. I think the Saints will be watching the next round of cuts to see if they can pick up a corner to compete for the job opposite Lewis.

I was somewhat surprised p-rob survived march cuts. I want to see how sweeting does. Wouldnt rule out greer coming back down the road is his knee is good. They brought in mckenzie and chris mcallister for depth back in 09 i would think jabari is on speed dial. Got to watch the waiver wire for some OL , wr and cb talent. Maybe another rush end or backup nose as well.

I agree with Greer. If he comes back almost at his 2010 self then he could help for sure. Just read that besides Armstead we don't have a left tackle. Kinda worry about that position.
