Heard this morning that ESPN's ratings for the Portugal-USA game were the highest in history for a non-NFL sporting event.

 

That's for ESPN only, and college football has given them higher ratings than the game as well.

Anyone read about the referee for yesterday's Uruguay-Italy match? His name is Marco Rodriguez. His nickname? Dracula.

 

Yeah, he's mexican and works in the mexican league. The nickname is because of his hairdo, and really, really, REALLY white skin.

He didn't see the bite. He was facing the ball, turning his back at Suarez. Had he seen it, it was a sure red card.

The assistant has no excuse, though...

The German team will not be happy with the performance in game 2 after a great effort in their opener,they will be looking to make a statement and try and put some doubts into Argentina minds.
