I've drawn the #9 pick out of a 12 team league. Fortunately it's a 1 keeper league and I drafted Eddie Lacy in the 6th last year, so I've got 1 RB locked up. Who should I look for at the #9 spot? I'm really hoping Graham makes it down to me as TEs are really scarce, but I'm not sure he will. If he doesn't where should I grab Julius Thomas (I really want to have TE locked up this year). I have an opportunity to trade up to pick #2 (99% sure Peyton is going to be #1), and have been thinking about it in order to snag a second top tier RB or should I see what falls to me at #9? If I do trade up to #2 who should I go after? What should I look for w/ my 2nd & 3rd pick? Maybe get Julius Thomas in the 3rd (26th pick overall)? I know it's a bit early for him, but I doubt he will snake back around to me. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
I wouldn't trade up. That might be a lot to give up. It's an awesome start having Lacy. I'd go receiver first since you get 1ppr and 6pt per td. wait on a qb like romo or cutler. they will have a nice volume of completions. 4 points per score knock them down "some." i know 2 running backs is tempting, but there is more value at the rb2 spot in the 3rd and 4th round. which is what your first rb will be. if graham winds up falling to you in the second, i would snag him. but i can't draft him at the 9th spot. that's just too high for me.
Thank you. What order would you put the top receivers in? I have the draft guide cheat sheets configured for my league. My sheet has it in the following order: Calvin Johnson D. Thomas Dez A.J. Julio Marshall Would you follow that pecking order as well? Also, how do you feel about a QB/WR combo? Like Cutler/Marsha, Romo/Dez, etc.? Thanks
One more question, sorry. I can start a new thread if needed. Just updated my signature, forgot to include that our Flex spot can be a QB as well. Does that change how I should draft? Would you go for a QB in the 1st if available? If so, who do you consider to be 1st/2nd round material.
You're essentially in a two QB league and should treat it as such. A top QB and a mid tier QB will give you an advantage every week. My personal WR rankings are CJ Dez, Julio DT Marshall AJ, you can't really go wrong with any however. I'm not ranking solely on the player but more or less how I perceive their schedule and surroundings. But following your cheat sheet is the best way to make a consistent team.
Thanks, so should I redo my draft sheets and set it for 2 QBs? Draft isn't until Thursday. I've made the playoffs 4 years in a row, but only got money once. I'd love to take it all this year.
I usually set it for 2 quarterbacks anyways. We have to take a QB2 in our local league, so sometimes there is a guy I like at a lower spot than someone else higher.
