With just five bench spots on a ten team PPR league it seems to me that streaming TE&K is a good strategy. With only five spots I'm thinking most owners will not want to carry an extra TE or K on the bench, other than bye weeks perhaps For example these are the top 10 TE's on our WW for the coming week not too shabby and most projected to get more points than my current TE Ertz. Would you drop Ertz this week for one of the below or ride it out with him. Martellus Bennett Dwayne Allen Antonio Gates Delanie Walker Anthony Fasano Levine Toilolo Charles Clay Jared Cook Zach Miller Jermaine Gresham
I like the strategy, I just wouldn't do it with Ertz on my team. I can see him rack up another score this week. The Colts will make it another high scoring game.
Don't trust projected points. You don't win the games before they start. Ertz is facing a defense that allowed 3 TDs to a tight end last week. Definitely worth the shot.
I came to the same conclusion last night and deleted my Ertz trades.........or so I thought....I had another team page open which apparently retained my Ertz WW swaps and I ended up with J Gresham. Ertz will clear waivers on Friday.....I'm not sure I should even try to pick him back up.... Thanks for the info on projected points .... I don't use them in the sense of an actual hard # prediction, but just as another comparison point. If one TE is projected to get 25 and another 5 there is probably a reason for that, SOS, or injury, etc.
I agree with the 25 points v 5 points to an extent. In ESPN the week 1 projection for B Sankey was 15 points. However, Greg and the rest of FKH as well as several other fantasy analysts were saying he would have nearly 0 value. My person projection would have been around 3 or 4 points in ppr. He scored 2. Had I followed those projections I would have started Sankey in a flex position over T Williams(DAL) he was projected 9, but I knew he would be targeted well as the #2 guy opposite of Dez. He ended up with 15. ESPN has some of the worst projections I have seen. Yahoo sometimes has decent ones, but even then it's still a crap shoot. Although on Yahoo, had I followed the projections I would have started Romo over Cutler. My best advice for choosing starting players, and this isn't even 100%, early in the season, go with the more proven guy or the guy who will potentially be given more opportunities. Later in the year, say after week 3 or 4 when we have I decent idea how a defense is playing, go with the guy with a good match-up and the potential touches.
