Whom should I drop to claim him if anyone? I was thinking either Torrey or Wright.

Uh, Prater is in my IR/Reserve spot. If I drop him, I have to drop Novak first because he's subbing and thus have ZERO kicker. Thus, someone else has to be dropped and why I'm asking about potentially Torrey or Wright or someone else.

Why in gods name is a kicker in your IR spot.

  6. 86WARD

    86WARD -

Drop Navak, Drop Prater, add Garcon, add a kicker later. Or drop a QB and add one later (RGIII)

There is not a kicker in the league worth keeping anyways. I like the above idea

86Ward has it right. No need to keep a kicker on your IR/Empty spot. I know he is a nice hold, but not for a skill player.

Guys, you're all missing the point. I need a kicker (or are you suggesting adding Garcon and going without one?!). The reason I stashed Prater is because I can activate him after his suspension's over by dropping Novak then and he was one of the highest scoring guys there last season. But at the end of the day, this has ZERO to do with kickers because even if I cut Prater and Novak, I still NEED ONE, don't I? And to add Garcon, there's no extra roster spot unless I go kickerless which I don't think anyone's suggesting, are they? With the right kicker, you're throwing away 10-20pts/week if you'd do that which is nuts.

I feel like Allen Iverson talking about practice here. I need a valid roster which means I need a kicker. Who ELSE do I drop to pick up Garcon (for 86Ward, this is a QB Flex league which behooves at least 2 QB's on my roster 90% of the time so I can't drop a QB, right? Waiver wire's down to Geno Smith already at that position)?

@brewers_rule1978 what we are saying is dump both kickers till Sunday. and pick up Garcon. From now till Sunday maybe another player goes on IR. and you can put him there and pick up a kicker, but for now secure Garcon. If nothing happens it buys you 2 days? Does that make sense,

No, it doesn't make sense because none of my team below is even potentially injured or suspended to be able to be slotted IN that IR spot, resulting in me either playing without a kicker Sunday OR dropping someone to hang onto Garcon. So why go through that trouble when I can just drop someone in my waiver claim now? What am I missing here?

it buys you 2 days.. to see what happens, yes eventually you might have to drop someone, but it buys you 2 days.

I understand if you are hesitant, and if that is the case I don't know who you would drop. Wright is gold right now. but he would be my pick

I guess I don't see the benefit in going through all that to buy 2 days. Most sites I've looked at including FK's had Garcon clearly above either Wright or Torrey in ppr leagues and even some of my other players. I can see where Torrey could be a big time WR eventually w/Flacco claiming he'll catch 100 balls in Kubiak's offense and just at a low point for now. I can also see that Wright was and is a great player to hang onto in Whizzy's offense where he's the #1 and done well so far. Unless someone see a weaker link on my team than those two (which is why I'm asking), I don't see what the need for the extra 2 days is when to me it's as easy as claim/drop one of the two for Garcon?

That is, unless this drug testing thing somehow ripples into Justin Blackmon returning along with Josh Gordon, in which case I WILL be dropping all kickers to add him to my second IR/Reserve spot we have ;)

I understand what you mean. You get to keep Prater since he isn't playing, but you'll have to dump Novak to bring him back.

Looking at your roster, I don't think you can drop anyone. You have too many top guys. I hate to say it, but you'll just have to leave Garcon be.

Man.... Torrey Smith or Garcon... that's the only question I see here -

I'd drop Smith for Garcon in .00001 seconds.

Torrey had his chance, its done. Steve Smith is so old his jersey says "Sr." and he looks better than Torrey. Plus all the TE action in Baltimore is killing Torrey.

Enter Garcon - even with RG3 sucking balls right now, he's putting up decent stats.

I didn't read this entire thread but this is my heavy recommend - get Garcon.

I was going to go the same way as Kurt, but I just can't fathom Smith being taken out of the mix that soon. But I do agree somewhat. It's just mind boggling that Smith's value has plummeted this fast.
