Hey Guys, I am 4-0 and want to continue my streak. I am not one to stay content with my team for very long. I hope that is why I am 4-0! LOL I have had some highs and lows out of my RB group. I have Gio Bernard, Rashad Jennings, Montee Ball, Darren Sproles, and Shane Vereen. I have a limit of 5 RB on my roster. The top 2 make me happy, the other 3 are hit and miss and I really prefer consistency week to week. My TE situation is a little better....I drafted Jimmy Graham, and Jordan Reed, and picked Larry Donnell up as a Free agent before he got big. I usually like to start a RB in my flex whenever possible. Is it reasonable to consider trading Jimmy Graham and Montee Ball for Leveon Bell or Demarco Murray? Am I aiming too high? Is that an even trade for the both of us? Both guys are hurting at TE and need points. I was thinking I could rely on Larry Donnell and Jordan Reed once hes healthy and beef up my RB group in the process. Could I get away with selling Larry Donnell high and packaging him with Montee Ball instead? Is this something I should even consider? Or should I just sit back and be content, playing WR and TE in my flex instead of RB? There are 2 teams behind me at 3-1 and several more at 2-2 so I am not that far ahead and just want to stay competitive throughout the season. This is our first year with money on the line so there is definitely more incentive!! Thanks in advance for all your help! Brian
Really the only guy I worry about in your backfield is Sproles. I don't know if we went over your waiver wire, but is there anyone you can pick up that would solidify the spot over Sproles? I'd hate to give up Graham because after him, there are guys who aren't as consistently scoring. The tight end spot isn't as solified with top guys like it used to be. I can't imagine in a 10 team league there isn't one running back you can't pick up. Plus Reed is close to coming back within the next week or so.
Sproles was my biggest concern, but I couldn't justify actually dropping anyone for someone left on the waiver wire, vs trying to use what I have as trade currency. If nothing else, I thought Sproles was a great handcuff. I have attached screen shots of waiver wire organized by projected points as well as points scored. Oh wow, I never would have guessed you would say that. Someone else had him early in the season and dropped him. I didn't see a whole lot of value on the waiver wire. Ill drop Sproles and pick him up now. Thanks Greg!
OK, I got Sankey. Is there any reason to believe I should start him over Donnell in my flex? Thanks Brian
Sankey didn't look good early on in the preseason and the first week or 2 in the regular, but he's been coming on. sproles is floundering. that's a big upgrade. i'm staying with donnell because the falcons are that bad on defense.
I was thinking last night, and there was one thing I forgot to add in our scoring. Running backs and wide receivers get points for punt and kickoff returns. So Antonio Brown and Darren Sproles doubled up for me with their returns. Does that change your view of Sproles at all over Sankey for my league scoring? For some reason, I cannot shake the feeling of regret for dropping him. Thanks
It depends on how many fantasy points Sproles was averaging. I doubt it was that much, but that really would have helped in making the analysis. If owners don't bring it up, we go by "standard" value of the player.
Yeah his returns do make a difference. Although you have a lot of running backs and are really deep already. I wouldn't worry about it. You have more than enough flex options to.
