Standard scoring aside from 6pts/pass TD, no PPR, start QB/2RB/2WR/WR-TE Flex/K/DST. I was just offered The Butler and Romo for Aaron Rodgers. My other RBs are Charles, Lamar Miller, Hillman, Joique and Hyde. I only carry one QB, as being a 10team/6pt TD league theres always usable guys on waivers for the bye. Im okay with Charles and Miller starting, but I am worried about the eventual return of Moreno...just dont know if I think its worth losing Rodgers for what could be a lateral-ish move at RB if Moreno doesnt come back/is ineffective. Any thoughts?
Looking at his roster, Im considering countering with Rodgers for Jimmy Graham straight up (he also has Donnell, I have Heath Miller and Owen Daniels, uck) and picking up Rapey or Flacco on the wire.
News just came out that Graham is expected to miss up to 2-3 weeks after the bye because of his shoulder. https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/521278379702902784
Hmm that's a new one. Morris and Romo for Rodgers. Well, you only really have one true back in Charles. Moreno is expected to play today and should see 8-10 carries. I think he's going to push Miller out of the limelight again. You'll get by with Hillman for awhile, Bell will continue to be the lead back ahead of Bush when Bush comes back. Hyde might start to get more carries with the news that the 9ers don't want to push Gore into the ground. Morris definitely upgrades your backfield. Morris and Charles are better than average RB1 and RB2, that is when the Redskins can keep the score close. It all depends on how you view Romo. He's a QB1, albeit a low one. If you had another lead back, I would say no. But you don't. You have all committee guys past Charles. I saw yes to the trade. It is fairly even. Morris really only had one bad week and that was against the Seahawks. It all boils down to what you think of Romo as an every week starter.
I didn't pull the trigger one way or the other yet, but today kind of helped justify my original thoughts on the matter re: potential lateral move...Miller outscores him again, quite comfortably. I like Morris a lot, I think he's a far better RB than Miller, but it seems more and more like he's just not a part of that offense. They throw a ton out of the gates, are generally playing from behind neccessitating even more passing, and Morris doesnt even play in passing sets. Even when its close they barely run. He's had a couple decent games from a FF points standpoint but even then it was only because of his TDs...I hate TD dependent players, especially when theyre used minimally. Moreno didnt do squat even when he played, which I realize could change, but Miller's been really quite good, I dont see why they'd want to pull him or decrease his workload at this point. I have no problem with starting Romo, but Im thinking Morris would be riding pine, which makes the trade a no-go to me. Can't take the hit at QB if Im not clearly upgrading elsewhere, and I dont see that clear upgrade. Joique Bell (my current 3rd) might end up outproducing Morris ROS.
Stupid coaching is the only thing that will pull Miller for Moreno. Miller is running on all cylinders right now, averaging 5.2 yards a carry. Philbin is the only thing that could derail this. He's a shirtty coach. Shanahan was the biggest reason for Morris' success. With his track record for running backs, it was easy to see now why Morris "was" so good. Gruden seems like he doesn't care much about the running game.
Moreno tore his ACL. Looks like this trade never had a chance. Thank goodness because i have miller in my local league.
