I also lost my QB yesterday. Available to play going forward are Alex Smith, Tyrod, Dalton, Foles, Manziel, Bortles and Winston. And of course, Weeden is still out there. (I have not listed opponents because this is an eight week problem). My current backup is Smith. Who would you pick up? Would you play musical QBs, week to week? Team #2 - (IDP & PPR, 12 Teams): 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 2 FLEX, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF, 2 IDP Passing: 6 pts/TD, 1 pt/25 yds, Rushing & Receiving: 6 pts/TD, 1 pt/10 yds, 1 PPR, Return: 1 point/20 yds
I'd likely play matchups. I like Weeden to come in and do well. I think he will fit the offense fine. It will be the best situation he's had in the NFL. I mean no Browns QB has done well consistently, so it's hard to blame him there, they don't give QB's any help (bad line, bad running game, average wr). He was 7-7 in relief yesterday with a TD. He has a fairly small sample with DAL, so it can go either way. (Plus he has as many rushing yards on the season as Demarco Murray, giggity) Randle was the RB next to Weeden at Oklahoma State in 2011 when they won the Fiesta bowl. So there will be familiarity in the backfield. Weeden exclusively ran out of the shotgun in college, and Randle thrived and caught 43 passes from the backfield. (should also be noted I am an Oklahoma State homer, but I do know if you give Weeden protection and run the types of passing plays Dallas has been using he can thrive, obviously not having Dez hurts though) The other option I would use would be Dalton, he's not compiling a lot of yards, but he is being efficient.
Tyrod, Dalton that's my picks - no matter who you pick check their bye week and matchups - no matter what Dalton needs to be in the equation.
@Kurt: since I have to put in a waiver claim, could you give me your next couple of choices? The guy who has Cutler may also be shopping.
