We have Washington vs. Eagles tonight in which unexpectedly the NFC East might be in play. Can't believe I'm saying this, but it's a must see...should be a good one. On sunday, of course, the game of the week is Chiefs vs. Bills. Some say KC might be the "worst" 9-0 team in NFL history...but they're still 9-0. Mahomes hasn't been Mahomes this year but he's still dangerous. I expect another excruciating Bills loss, because that fanbase can't suffer enough, apparently. I'm traveling to Mexico City tomorrow to see Green Day, scratching an item from my bucket list. Nobody and nothing can ruin my weekend which should be top 5 in my life. Apparently two teams from Texas are playing on Monday...not sure what that is or what that means, I'll figure it out later.
Commanders at Eagles - I'm very pysched for this game. I'm so interested to see our rookies in the secondary and LBs play. It is such a good test for them and hopefully they can make a statement first time seeing Jayden Daniels. In essence, a win tonight will give the Eagles a 2.5 game lead including the tiebreaker. Huge game! My Sunday watching: Ravens at Steelers - Always fun to watch these rivals. I hope Pittsburgh's defense finds a way to slow down the potent Ravens offense. Chiefs at Bills - I hope the Bills can end the Chiefs perfect season. Should be a fun one. Seahawks at 49ers - My weekly rooting against SF shall continue.
Nice of the Eagles to finally show up. I figured they would. Took a while though. And are they going to find Elliott a cure for the yips or what? These games are gonna start to matter. Anyway, here are my picks for the week. 2024 Week Eleven College and NFL Pick ‘Em: Darrel Harden’s Hardened Decisions - Sports Chump Enjoy your weekend, gentlemen.
It was certainly unsettling early on, but I have no doubt that the Eagles are the best team in the division. He's been really good for us for years, but it really is time to worry what is going on with Jake Elliott. He singlehandedly kept it a close game. I don't know what to say about the difference Vic Fangio and the young players have made on this defense from last year. Quinyon Mitchell continues to be a shutdown corner. He is the best rookie CB I've ever seen the Eagles have. With him and Slay on the other side they have really kept opposing WRs in check. What the hell were the Saints doing with Zach Baun? He's a monster in the Eagles scheme. It may be time to start discussing him as an All Pro. Jalen Carter was an absolute beast controlling the line last night. It's criminal that the Giants never gave Saquon a good offensive line. They wasted so many years of his prime. It worked out well for the Eagles though. I really wish that Hurts was more consistant. I don't know if he is not seeing some of the easy underneath throws or if he just tries too hard to make big downfield plays, but it gets frustrating. 8-2 is nice. Now on the heels of the Lions for best record in the NFC.
Some stats on Quinyon: Quinyon Mitchell aligned across from Terry McLaurin on 20 of 25 routes (80%), including 19 of 20 aligned wide (95%). Mitchell was not targeted on any of his coverage snaps against McLaurin and was targeted just once all night (0 receptions allowed). WRs vs Quinyon Mitchell: Drake London: 1 catch, 5 yards Chris Olave: 2 catches, 23 yards Mike Evans: 2 catches, 19 yards Amari Cooper: 1 catch, 10 yards Malik Nabers; 1 catch, 9 yards Ja’Marr Chase: 2 catches, 19 yards CeeDee Lamb: 1 catch, 5 yards Terry McLaurin: 0 catches Wow.
The Detroit Lions are the best team in the NFL. That's a sentence I never expected to say outloud unironically.
The Lions definitely are the best team in the NFL. Hopefully that won't be the case come season's end. Some fun games yesterday. Ravens-Steelers, Chiefs-Bills, Seahawks-49ers. I sometimes get bored when there is no Eagles game on a Sunday, but that was not the case yesterday.
Chiefs vs. Bills is this decade's Colts vs. Patriots rivalry. One team wins in the regular season, but the other dominates in the playoffs. The last two times Buffalo beat KC in the regular season, the Chiefs won the Super Bowl. Let's see if this continues...
Something fell off the roof at AT&T Stadium while it was closing. Fortunately nobody was hurt. The sky is literally falling in Jerry World.
The Cowboys implosion would be hilarious if I didn't love this stupid team so damn much. I'm sure for half the world it is. Last night I literally watched 10 seconds. Texans scored on the first play from scrimmage and I turned it off and took my girl out for dinner. She was pleased.
