Philadelphia Phillies Thread

Jose Alvarado suspended for 80 games and playoffs for taking a weight loss drug that is considered a PED. Our best reliever. Without a trade, I’m not sure if this team can make the playoffs. Our bullpen was bad with him, now it’s downright awful.

 

Phils complete the sweep of the Pirates yesterday afternoon as Mick Abel was dominant in his MLB debut. Skenes was great for Pittsburgh as he only allowed one run. That was all it took though as the Pirates lineup is awful and lost 1-0.

They remain in 2nd place, .5 game behind the Mets now. 4 game series starts today in Colorado. Only 3 of 4 or better is acceptable.

The Phils beat the Rockies last night and the Mets lost. Not only did the Phils flip over the Mets into first place, but somehow the Phils now have the best record in the NL, and 2nd best record in all of baseball behind the Tigers. I didn't realize how many top teams have been struggling lately.

 

Phils completed the 4 game sweep in Colorado over the joke that is the Rockies. That team is pathetic. Phils did what they needed to do.

They are now 2 games ahead of the Mets for 1st place. They also have the best record in the NL and 2nd best in baseball behind the Tigers. Tonight starts a 3 game series in Sacramento, CA to play the A's. That sounds weird to say.

Phils took 2 of 3 against the A's. Their 9 game winning streak was snapped by a blown save. Ugh...this bullpen.

They are now 1.5 games ahead of the Mets for 1st place. They have the best record in all of baseball. Tonight they come back home for a big series against the Braves. They have a 8.5 game lead over Atlanta and it would be nice to bury them.

Phils take 2 of 3 against the Braves. It wasn't pretty but they got the job done. Harper was hit by a Spencer Stryder pitch in the first game and hasn't played since. Looks like he shouldn't miss much time but the lineup is not the same without him.

The lead is now 2 games over the Mets for 1st place. 1/2 game behind the Tigers for best record in the majors. Tonight the Brewers come in for a 3 game series.

Disastrous weekend for the Phils. They got swept at home by the Brewers. Every aspect was awful. The starters were brutal. The bats only showed up for one game. The fielding errors were Little League level. So disappointing to see no fight. Also, there is still no word on when Harper will play again. I'm glad I only was able to watch a few innings.

They have moved a game back of the Mets for the division. Tomorrow they start a 3 game series in Toronto against the Blue Jays.
