After the folding of the NFL Europe, the AFL could expand to Europe. Roumors are around, that there will be a AFL Europe in 2009 AFLE? Bring 'em on
Can the Houston Oilers get a team in that new league? God knows the Texans aren't worth cheering for. Oh, it's a different AFL. Nevermind.
Yes, run an AFL league would be much cheaper than the NFLE. And if we get some "real" teams without that huge turnover, it will prolly work. A lot of the fans here, would give it a try.
Everything I heard is from reliable source, I hope to get more information which I'll be allowed to post in the next few weeks, maybe even an official AFL press release. Keep an eye on my website (below in sig) -XiP
Well, it took a while but we finally got the big word from the AFL. AFL is coming to Europe. It will not be like the NFL Europe but the teams will be AFL expansion teams located in Europe. So it's more like the World League setup but within the main league. The European teams will have their own contracted players and not yearly allocated players and they will play the USA based teams like Dragons, Soul and Crush. More can be read on my website afleurope.nl.
That would require some pretty big budgets for those teams to travel across the ocean back and forth.
