We already have a thread for the biggest fantasy bust this season, now let's talk about the biggest STEAL...last year I took some Marquis Colston guy from the waiver wire after the draft and he took him to the championship game. This year I have a few candidates: 1) Tony Romo: I took him way early...in the second round in a league, and everybody laughed at me...now he's the one that gives me more points. 2) Tom Brady: Let's face it...he didn't have much fantasy value before this season...now he's tearing apart every defense he faces. 3) Adrian Peterson (Vikings): Another gamble I took and has paid off. Nobody expected him to be THIS good.
I'd say Brady also. I've had him before and he was always so-so as far as fantasy points went. Pats would alawys win but that doesn't get you fantasy points. No interceptions doesn't get you points either. AP is another good one... I got John Kitna at QB and he's done pretty well for me. I was surprised at his production this year. But if you want the biggest steal of all....some guy named ANderson at qb for the Browns is probably the biggest surprise fantasy player....anyone here draft him? Of course not.....
Derek Anderson on waivers...I picked him up just because he was the only starter available right after they dumped Frye, and he's been a top 5er the rest of the way out. Randy Moss in the 5th round. Lendale White was also a preseason waiver pickup that hs turned into a legit starter.
I figured Jamal Lewis would be useless FF-wise, but I picked him up for the flex spot, and he's been great for me.
I'm really shocked at Jamal Lewis's year. I thought he would be crap this year. He is doing good. Unfortanatly I got no steals. The Steal i got last year was Maurice Jones-Drew. I loved him last year. This year I drafted marshawn Lynch as my Rookie RB over AP. So far its a bad move but Lynch is doing good. I would have to say my biggest steal might have been drafting Brandon Marshall towards the end of the draft.(12 team league). I kept waiting and waiting on him. He may not be getting the TD's and not many people might know much about him but he is getting me decent yards each game.
Ohhhhh yeah, him too...got him off waivers in the league I have him in...I was really close to giving up on him, then BOOM!
Tony Romo.... I got him because the guy I had queued, Marc Bulger, was taken in the round before I was going to take him.
Derek Anderson has to be the biggest steal, no-one even expected him to get a look-in around draft time (what with Frye and Quinn) but now he's playing so well.... That has to be the biggest steal.
In the Yahoo GIF league, I got Big Ben on FA. Nice! Now he's my starter over Matt Hasselbeck. In another Yahoo league, I picked Portis in rd 3. Not a real steal but though I had not planned to take a 3rd RB, I took the risk and he's been much better than my 1st rd choice, Maroney. I also grabbed Jason Campbell in FA. Not a big steal either but still valuable for my team (I drafted McNair and Losman).

Moss in the 8th round? Are you playing in a league with a bunch of monks who never see professional football? I don't know of any league that Moss was around in the 8th round.....wow.
Yep Moss went in the 8th round. I already had 3 WR's at that point C. Johnson,L Fitzgerald, J Walker so I kept passing on him. Plus I hated the guy and he sucked in Oakland. By the way,this is an 8 team league which makes it a little better. Sucks now that i passed on him since I'm in 5th place.
