Tank Johnson shouldn't have said anything. Does he think the commissioner is going to listen to him? If anything, he hurt Pacman's chances of coming back this year.

 

But he said please....and please always gets you what you want....right?


And if that fails he's got an arsenal that says it won't fail twice..

 

My opinion... Pacman Jones should be banned from the NFL. It's a privilege to be a professional athlete, a privilege he doesn't understand or deserve at this point.

But seriously, you can't ban him. How many players get behind the wheel of a car drunk and put people's lives in danger (or like Barlowens noted, actually kill someone) and get away with just a chump change fine? What Pacman did isn't that much worse than what those guys have done.

 

Good point, BO. And I am of the belief that being a professional athlete should be no different than any other job. If I got a DUI, I could lose my job. If I got arrested and lost time at work because of it, I could lose my job. If I were convicted of a felony, I would lose my job. These guys should be held to the same standard of right and wrong as any other employee in the workplace.

 

Unfortunately, he's good at what he does in a big money business so people are willing to turn the cheek on these kinds of things and not hold him to the standards of us "normal" people.

I think Goodell is too much of a cat to actually ban anybody. He's trying to put the pressure of getting rid of the trouble makers on the teams with the new team fines policy.

I agree to a certain point of that, i do feel in a way he could have helped his chances, because Tank hasn't messed up his 2nd chance so far, so he's just trying to say that he got his re-instatement and learned from his mistakes, and that pacman can do the same... but who knows.
