A change of scenery, a club-record $16-million signing bonus and a shift to right guard worked wonders for Davis in his first year with the Cowboys. A former Cowboy, who also played guard, believes Davis could be one of the league's top interior linemen for years to come. "I think the best thing that ever happened to him was get away from the Cardinals," said Nate Newton, who made six Pro Bowls with the Cowboys during the 1990s. The Dallas Morning News
No doubt Davis came on a bundle last year. He was awful in Arizona and in a way has never lived up to his draft hype because he can't play LT. Having said that, Dallas took a risk last year and it paid off. He looked like he finally understood how to use his physical tools and was blowing people off the line. In Arizona he used to miss people off the line.
I knew (was pretty sure, at least) that this was going to happen. Dennis Green was a stubborn jackass about moving him to LT and keeping him there. It was more about getting away from Green than it was going to Dallas.
