RIP Gene Upshaw

No link on the Net yet, but I'm at work listening to FOX Sports Radio and it just broke (2:00am CST) that former Raider and head of the NFLPA Gene Upshaw passed away from pancreatic cancer.

I hope the league doesn't make everyone wear his jersey number sticker on their helmets. Cause I can already think of a few **cough cough "Matt Stover, Kevin Mawae" cough cough ** who won't like that too much. Nice job getting this story before hardly anyone else, WR/FSU.

 

Wow. I didn't realize he had cancer. RIP.

Saying that though, I wouldn't be surprised if the CBA gets sorted very quickly now he's gone.
