The Giants absolutely dominated the Seahawks 44-6. Dominating on every aspect of the game. They were making a statement to the NFL as the best. Brandon Jacobs bullied, and pushed around the Seattle stop unit for 136 yards and 2 TDs. In fact, the Giants had 254 rush yards. Giants have a great rushing game, but for Seattle, 254 yards is inexcusable, not gonna win games playing with that kind of defense. Good news for Seattle is, the rest of the NFC West is weak. Eli Manning also had a great game through the air, 19/25, 267 yards, 2 TDs, no INTs. He also was sacked, and fumbled the ball once by Patrick Kerney. Plaxico who?? Domenik Hixon caught 4 balls, for 102 yards, and 1 TD. Toomer added 64 yards on 4 catches, and Sinorice Miss also with 4 catches, for 45 yards. Seattle's offense sucks besides Julius Jones today. The receivers aren't helping out Matt Hasselbeck with those dropped passes. Next up for the Giants: @ Cleveland on MNF. For Seattle: vs Green Bay on FOX.
This is how I saw it... The Blue Train plowed through Seattles defense for 136 yards on fifteen carries, thats 9.1 yards a carry (not to mention 2 TDs). Combine that kind of sick efficiency with the fact that the Giants didnt have to punt until the fourth quarter (when the 2nd team offense was playing), and you get a beating of epic proportions. From the very start when Seattle failed to convert on third down, and Aaron Ross was hit late, the real team suffering was still Seattle, whos QB went down with a hyper extended knee. It was like this the rest of the game. Seattle could try as they wanted to hit Brandon Jacobs, or run Julius Jones at the best gang tackling D in the league, but it was all moot against a team that was just clearly better. Somewhere between having no defensive stops, and no third down conversions, the Seahawks lost all faith in themselves, leading to the 38 point beating. The beat down wasnt just a Brandon Jacobs effort, it included eleven offensive players moving the ball (2 QBs, 3 RBs, 5 WRs, 1 TE), and an offensive line holding up the way they drew it up. Theres been many comments made in the media about Eli being too reliant on one player (most notably Plaxico Buress, and Jeremy Shockey), but seeing him spread the ball around today just goes to show how off base such comments are. Manning did what he has been doing his whole career, controlling the game, making pre-snap audibles, and making the plays that matter. Yes, Eli Manning fumbled the football, and yes the Giants got a first down the very next play leading to yet another Big Blue score. The Giants line showed its humanity on that play, and rebounded amazingly in response. These Giants arent all that new, but they sure are improved from past season. Every single player has a role clearly defined, and every single player is executing at their highest potential.
You could make a case with the Redskins and Cowboys, and even the Titans, but yeah the Giants are the best.
I told you all from the beginning of the season to watch the Giants. I knew they lost players. But look at this performance. How about Boothe filling in for McKenzie.
Sorry but I'm not ready to anoint them as the best yet.... last game I saw was them almost losing to the bengals.
No crap butt clown. That's the game I was watching while I missed your NJ Giants Seahawks game. Why weren't you watching your game? Did I say the eagles were better? I simply said I'm undecided until you face a good team. (Week 1 redskins don't count)
Have to hand it to them there a good team but i dont think there the best. They havent played any elite teams yet.
So hard to pin somebody as the best team right now, alot of teams playing mediocre football. Giants haven't played the best teams but yeah they do lookj like their firing on all cylinders. Right now I can't imagine the Cowboys beating New York. They don't really have a weakness and that pass rush is so wicked.
