Can't we set OJ free so he can do his thing on Mike Nolan? Please? I want his head on a silver platter. No questions asked.
And not throwing it on the play that should have been a successful challenge makes it worse. Vanilla defense again, allowing too many yards and points. Martz goes crazy with a 9-pt lead by not giving it to Gore. I admit that he is smart, but I think he's just too smart for his own good. Tries too hard to be unpredictable that he ends up messing up our offense and killing drives. So far I haven't seen something as simple as a draw run with a split-wide formation, no... Martz has to make it a reverse to a tight end. And back to Nolan... no, his idiocy is unlimited. If I'm pulling the strings I have him fired right after the game and start luring Bill Cowher out of retirement. That, if Mike Holmgren is not available. We have the pieces to be a competitive team, but unfortunately coaching is holding us back.
One more thing... the OL. OL coach Warhop likes continuity... how can you defend that after such dismal performances? Something as simple as switching Snyder to RT and pluging in Baas at LG while benching Barry Sims (no wonder the Raiders didn't want him back, from all teams out there) should improve the line, but no, it's too obvious to actually go for it. Staley... oh, Staley. I used to defend the move of Nolan trading a future first for him. Not anymore. His world-class athleticism (LOL) is useless out there. He gets beat in pass blocking more than a redneck wife and obviously, his run blocking leaves a lot to be desired. I thought pass blocking was his strength?
