Sorry mike, CP mentioned GSP and Cote, and I just sort of went with it. CP why don't you create a new thread and move this conversation in there, or do would SRW have to do that?
Should he get by UFC lightweight champion B.J. Penn at their upcoming fight on SuperBowl weekend, Georges St. Pierre isn't opposed to another champion vs. champion fight with Anderson Silva. However, while a guest on this past Friday's edition of "Inside MMA" on HDNet, St. Pierre hinted that Silva may not be a champion after his UFC 90 main-event fight.Afterall, St. Pierre thinks Silva's opponent, Patrick Cote, can pull off the upset. Holy crap. I didn't even know that Penn was fighting GSP. :icon_eek: What weight class are they fighting at?
I couldn't imagine there would be a title on the line as they are both champions in their weight class, but what weight will they fight at?
I am going to assume that they will fight at welterweight since BJ moved down to lightweight to clean up that division.
While I think the spider will find a way to beat Cote, there is a first time for everything and Cote's right hand is very heavy.
I'm not saying there isn't a first time for everything guys, but Cote is not even close to Silva standing up. Take a look at his losses and tell me again how Cote is gonna use that right hand to beat him? Anderson Silva - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Silva knocks Cote out in the first minute of the fight.... stands directly over his head, then drops a few hellacious t-bags and runs a lap around the octagon shouting "HOW DOES IT TASTE"... in Portugese.... If that happens I have a new favorite fighter.
BJ and GSP fight at 170 in Jan. Anyone stepping into the octagon has a chance. I've seen too many unpredicatable upsets to count out Cote.
