It appears the niners also fired the OL coach and promoted the assistant OL coach. This move may have as much impact as the firing of HC Nolan. Our O-line has been horrible the last few years, and it doesn't seem to matter WHO is in the lineup, they just can't protect our QBs. Good news IMO.
I still don't think it's as bad as most people think. JTO brings alot of it on all by himself... still, they aren't great or even good for that matter.....I agree that it's good news.
IMO it's going to help. At least it shows that the FO isn't happy with the play of the O-line. Something that should NOT be lost on the players. Time for them to step it up and give JTO a little time to make his reads. I agree that JTO brings some of it on himself, but he HAS shown he can make good reads when he isn't pressured. Not all the time of course, but he is starting to get a grasp on the Martz system, and the 1 thing everyone knows you need in Martz's system in time in the pocket. If you have a decent qb with time, Martz will find a way to move the ball. I hope this also involves opening lanes up for Gore. He is our one brightspot this year, and we need to rid his butt as long as we can.
