Broncos or Redskins? I'm talking about the Champ Bailey-Clinton Portis trade. A couple years ago I think we'd have almost all said the Broncos, but with Portis' value skyrocketing and Bailey not as good as he was a few years ago and maybe not even the best corner in his division, we start to rethink it. Don't get me wrong, Bailey is still a top-notch cornerback, but who got the better deal in the end?

For me, the bottom line is that a RB is of more value to a team than a CB. Don't get me wrong, Champ is a great player, but Portis gives you so much more. 1000+ rush yards a year, helps out in the blocking, and the threat of him running also means the passing game has less pressure. Bailey is a great shutdown corner but he can be taken out the game with effective gameplanning by the offense facing him. However, if Portis is out there against your defense and gets the ball, he's a threat. So, if I wanted any of these two players, I'd take Portis.

I say Denver. Sure Portis is good, and I dont take anything away from him, with me being a Dallas fan. I say Denver because, it doesn't matter who their RB is, they can put up Portis' numbers easily, just because it's Denver. The Broncos didn't have a great CB then, they do now.. and every since then, they haven't kept 1 steady RB, but if they were too.. it'd be a piece of cake for whoever that RB was. Where every yard Portis gets, is hard earned.
