"Dustin Pedroia, the Red Sox diminutive second baseman who struggled to hit his weight during his first month in the big leagues, was today voted the American League Most Valuable Player in balloting conducted by the Baseball Writers Association of America. Pedroia edged out a number of players, including teammate Kevin Youkilis, for the award and became the first A.L. second baseman since Nellie Fox in 1959 to win the award.

I like Pedroia, but c'mon give me a freaking break!

Morneau put up better numbers than he did.

That's awesome. Well deserved. This guy always came up big when we needed him to, and it seems whenever he was hot, so was everyone else.
    Congrats!
And the MVP voting isn't always about the stats. Its about the impact you have on your ball club, and being a Morneau fan, Pedroia had a bigger impact on his team.

Morneau drove in almost 130 runs and finishes behind a guy that didn't even hit 20 HR's. plain
