Nope. He's not gonna be fast enough to escape defenders like he does now in college and he doesn't have the capability to have the most accurate arm especially on the deep balls.
Funny you bring this up....Mel Kiper just commented on this today: from CollegeFootballTalk.com I personally am not sold on spread offense QB's making it in the NFL. It's a gimmick offense that spreads out defenses and allows the QB to single out mismatches all day long.
He doesn't have the NFL QB stock. IF he goes to the NFL he will be a TE or maybe the H-Back Kiper proposes. I'm just not sure he's going pro right after school. He seems like the type of person who will continue his missionary work first then give the NFL a shot.
Add in the fact that the mismatches at the college level usually are huge compared to the NFL. I don't think he has a prayer at the NFL level as a QB.....TE? He's one of those guys imo that just doesn't translate well to the NFL.
Hmmmmmmmmmm...It looks like I am the only one who's gonna say yes. I think he has enough skills to get it done and has been playing with a top tier team and against the BEST competition and what does he do?....He wins. I think he's a great leader and a smart player and some of the physical abilities can be overcome because of those. I think he'll get a shot and if surrounded by some good players he could have a stellar career. Stick him in the wrong system and maybe you all are right. Plenty of players that had "all the right abilities" could never figure out the pro level game.
i think mush is onto something he could disapear into his mission work and never pursue football thats an interesting angle
if mel kiper says he cant do it, is put money on it that he can. (not alot of money, but still) the guys played well and i think if he gets drafted into the right system with the right coach he could do well, but that is alot of ifs
Not sure he will make a QB in the nfl... but we could use him as a back up! I dunno, I was cfreaking out how many heisman trophy winners actually became QB's in the past and it is rare. Some have, but most are not memorable.
Got NFL QB written all over his name. Big, strong, straping young man. Also a pretty boy going after Erin Andrews. But hey, what the heck do i no?:icon_cheesygrin:
Tebow has a terrible motion that will be a weakness in the NFL, his accuracy is suspect at best. He has a ton of time and only throws if his receiver is wide open for the most part. He won't be able to play the way he does in the nfl. I hate to agree with hair man Kiper, but Tebow will never make it in the NFL as a QB
